Vegan fast food fans rejoice! McDonald’s has launched its first ever vegan burger.
The chain is trialling a new soy-based dish in Finland, and it’s pretty exciting news for vegans all over the world.
Rather than the usual meat and sauce found in standard McDonald’s burgers, the ‘McVegan’ featured a soy-based patty, with salad and a new vegan McFeast dressing.
The dish is being tested in the city of Tampere in Finland between October 4 and November 21.
There’s no word yet on whether the McVegan will become a permanent item on the McDonald’s menu, although vegans will be hoping successful trails will see the product rolled out across the UK.
McDonald’s Finland released a picture of the McVegan on social media, and it looks pretty much identical to a standard burger.
McDonald’s are just the latest company to recognise the demand for vegan burgers.
While the McVegan isn’t yet available in London, the Vurger Co are one company bringing vegan burgers to London with a series of pop-ups across 2017.
