Commuters at a train station in Australia were in for a surprise when an escaped racehorse decided to join them on the platform while waiting for a passenger service.

This unexpected guest made its appearance at Warwick Farm station in New South Wales, casually trotting down the platform and even adhering to safety protocols by standing behind the yellow line as the train approached.

Videos shared by Transport for NSW captured the bewildered reactions of commuters as the horse sauntered past just before midnight on April 5th.

Transport for NSW took a lighthearted approach to the situation, sharing updates on Facebook with a humorous twist. In a post referring to a “missing individual,” they quipped, “He was reported to be wearing only a rug and demonstrating a bit of horseplay.”

The post humorously detailed the horse’s antics, mentioning how it seemed to chase someone along the platform before attempting, albeit unsuccessfully, to board a train.

Eventually, the horse made its way to the car park area, where its owner retrieved it, ensuring its safe return home in stable condition. The post concluded with a playful note, stating that no further action would be taken as the individual was simply “horsing around.”

While local media speculated that Warwick Farm station’s proximity to a racecourse might explain the horse’s escapade, this connection has yet to be officially confirmed.
